Singing Random Russian is explained as a slave the villain's father captured when the Russian was very young, who stays with him now out of loyalty. Which does not explain why the movie opens with him singing on a rooftop, wearing white fur.

I agree about B&A, even if there was a bit much "honor of men" for me.
