Honey was a lot more atypical movie I think, largely revolving around working-class (nonwhite, female) efforts versus the big money (white, male, creepy) and how the former can get screwed over by the latter but still beat them with a community SJ effort.

I keep feeling like a bunch of these movies (Step Up was more about classism and the environment poor kids can get trapped in but its sequel did this too) seem to involve a disadvantaged girl who has to have as an integral part of her journey some bland rich caucasian boy and it frustrates me.
