Handsome Siblings-up to ep 20-mostly a bit of OTP babble and pics

First- Su Ying, the doctor-and Concubine Shu-Xian's sister-are completely awesome and aren't being used NEARLY enough.  But then, that's one thing I've noticed about these shows-no matter what the leads are like, you can count on having some awesome supporting to characters to take up any slack that might exist.

Here's the thing-Little Fish and Xian are the kind of secondary pairing that I can go absolutely nuts over, sometimes even more so than the main pairing, but when there's too much focus on them, I start to lose interest. They're like Little Fish as an individual...when used in connection with Flower and Orchid to move the plot along, it rocks, but when used as the chief plot propellant, my attention starts to wander.

Little Fish and Xian are extremely cute and likable and I don't doubt for one second that they completely love and are devoted to each other, but the fact is, they aren't really shown as being crucial to each other, or changing each other.  Which is fine.  They both need to grow up a bit(and are) but both were essentially just fine as they were.  They complement each other well and go well together.  Like I said, great secondary pairing.

In contrast, however, Flower starts off almost robotic, and his friendship with Little Fish and his love for Orchid are absolutely essential to his becoming more human.  Without them, he would have gone through life as an automaton with no opinions or goals of his own, just doing what Princess Moon told him to do.  When he's brainwashed into believing that Orchid and Little Fish have betrayed him, he's absolutely devastated and becomes even worse than he was at the start.

And his love for Orchid...he has a spell cast on him to make him forget his love for her, is brainwashed into believing she had an affair with Little Fish, and then walks in on a setup designed to make sure he has no doubts about the brainwashing, and he's STILL loyal to her, even when YuYan literally throws herself at him.  Even with all that, though, he can still "feel" that there's something wrong with what his head and Princess Moon tell him, and with Princess Star's help, he's able to overcome it.

The problem is that, any time they focus exclusively on one pair at the expense of the other, it's in favor of Little Fish and Xian.  Like...right now...what's going on with them is important and I don't want it pushed to the side, but this is Flower's first time to be with them since learning the truth, and it's been a couple days for them and NOTHING has been done with that because it's all been about Little Fish and Xian.  What, I'm supposed to believe that they're just conveniently avoiding each other until this is taken care of? (Ok, with Flower, it's a possibility as he likely has absolutely NO idea what to say or is even sure if he could, but still...
