Slayers Try eps 23-26
Dear Filia:
I realize you are a nice girl with a heavy and understandable sense of responsibility. I realize you have a major guilt thing going with the bit about how your race wiped out ValGaav's. I feel the need to point out, however, that he likes to try to kill you a lot and even tried to forse you to destroy the world with your own hands, just for kicks. I do know think standing there and sighing "ValGaav" is what you want to be doing. I mean, if you want a guy who will clearly drive you to an early grave, let's look at Xellos. I mean, sure, he was a leader in that war a thousand years ago and wiped out a lot of dragons, but he has a habit of rescueing you, and clearly didn't mean it that one time he threatened to kill you. Sure, he's diabolical and machiavellian and would drive anyone insane, but he's almost as bad at being the bad guy as Zelgadis is and his heart tends to be in the right place, if for the wrong reasons. Did I mention that he DOESN'T think trying to kill you is fun?
Moving on...
I dunno, that was a great "save the world" final arc, but I fear the tail end of season 2 kinda ruined me...it was too awesome for words.
I have to ask, though: did the end here remind anyone else of the ending of Orphen? Except for the part where Filia is pretty cool, instead of being a stupid, nosy twat who was responsible for vitually every freaking bad thing in the series and got treated like a noble, tragic heroine for it like Azalee was?
On a final note: Zelgadis briefly got a giant glowing weapon. Actually, almost everyone did. Zelgadis looked particularly giddy about it though. I wonder if he over heard Amelia admiring the Sword of Light off screen...
I must now ponder if I want to go ahead and watch the OVAs now, or wait a bit(I have them, so they'll get watched eventually.) Also have to decide whether or not to watch any of the movies...
