reading update

Wallflower Vol 11 by Tomoko Hayakawa-Y'know, I'm really starting to like Ranmaru's princess(who needs a name)  She's really the only kind of girl Ranmaru MIGHT eventually fall for.  The whole gang seems to have become shippers at this point(good, they can join the fans)  Sunako with a fan though is...scary...though she was insanely cute with her shojo sparkles.  The second part, though...true love is when you'll sacrifice your anatomical doll so someone won't have to brave his fangirls...then he braves his fangirls to get your anatomical doll back for you.  And the date was...there are no words for the date...

Her Majesty’s Dog Vol 6 by Mick Takeuchi-WOOT! to

[personal profile] dangermousie getting hooked on this-of course, after discussions in her LJ, I had Yamapi and Maki in my head as Hyoue and Amane the whole time...which isn't a bad thing.  Why is it that when Amane finally gets a clue, Hyoue decides that he can not care as part of his "protect her" thing?(stupid Hyoue...it won't work)

Fruits Basket Vol 16 by Natsuki Takaya-The first half of this was mostly about Kyoko and Tohru's father, Katsuya, who looks and acts rather like an older, less messed up Kyo.  I rather liked their story and wouldn't have minded more...separately, when it didn't interfere with the main story.  And the rest...die Akito...diediedie.

White Night by Jim Butcher-It is Dresden, and therefore, awesome(even more so than the series)  Though...I seem to have become accustomed to TV!Bob, as book!Bob made me blink a bit.  We saw a lot of characters we haven't seen in a while, but what stood out to was Molly and Justine.  Molly was mostly used as a growing up/past mistake lesson for Harry before, but is coming into her own, and Justine...well, she'll give you a shock here.  And, seriously, Thomas is giving Harry a run for his money as the series's #1 Angstboy(and his scene with Justine just about killed me)  also, one day, people will learn that Harry/Murphy snark alone can conquer all evil and misbehaving...and that's when they're in a good mood and not in "vanquish evil" mode.

So, speak to me of this series, if you would. I keep seeing the title, and going "huh"?

It DOES have an odd title, doesn't it?(but then, so do many manga) dangermousie did a pretty good description here:

Hmmm ... I found the website for it too. It may be a little too much of teh cute for a geek tomboy like myself, but I'll have to check it out next time I'm at a store that has it.

Hey, you know Saiyuki Reload 7 is out, yes? I have to see if I can get it this weekend.

It's more on the light and funny side than the cute. I'm not sure if it's your thing(the only mangas I know of that you read involve a lot of attitude, blood and carnage...) but it's very fun.

And yup, I've ordered my copy.

Too true, I loves me some attitude! Not necessarily with a side order of blood and carnage, but the bonding that occurs among memebers or a team in the face of danger is always appealing to me. And in manga, real danger seems to translate to carnage.
