may be...I see/read so much where this kind of character is made to be the perfect, ideal woman...though this is one of the worst cases.
I don't mind when it's made clear that she is a doormat at first and then grows into a strong person(I rather like that plot, actually) but in this case, the doormat part is crucial to her Ideal Woman role.
