It can be strangely compelling reading, particularly the Wiki which makes it so easy to flit back and forth through lovingly hyperlinked documentation of multiple subspecies of batshit insanity.

My Favoritest Subthread Ever remains this gem (http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/978391.html?thread=124229079#t124229079), wherein a passing comment about a ridiculously lengthy Gundam Wing mpreg fic led to some improvisational parody brilliance.
