Anyone have any opinions on the following:

Banner of the Stars
D.N.Angel
Elfen Lied
Gantz
Serial Experiments Lain The f-list, it disapproves.
Speed Grapher
Vandread

Also, Blue Seed OVA: Yes? Maybe? "Think 'Slayers OVA'?" Etc?

DN Angel- It's twee and precious and not bad though I'm still struggling to care enough about it to finish.

Speed Grapher- Now that is an excellent series but so HARDCORE I'm having a hard time finishing it. There is so much perverse behavior and just random grittiness.

Vandread- I LOVE this series. I think it's highly underappreciated. It was one of the first series I actually watched and still love it. It's funny and poigniant and has some great characters.

The main character is a former war photographer who infiltrates a really shady gentleman's club where the ultimate honor one can get is to be kissed by Kagura, a girl who has the ability to give the person whatever they desire by scrambling their DNA. When Kagura kisses Saiga, he develops the ability to kill people with his camera. He then falls in love with Kagura who he helps escape from her uber-bitch mother. Meanwhile he has to deal with other men who've used Kagura's "gift" for perverse reasons.

Saiga isn't quite right himself as he can only get sexually aroused by taking pictures. He sees Kagura as his salvation while she sees him as her savior. Then there's the police woman who is stalkerish possessive of Saiga and rapes him while his unconcious (that was a weird moment).

Anyway, it's good, but it's really hardcore.
