The weird thing is, while my cracktastic meter is set pretty high, most Chinese wuxias I've tried break it (even the one I loved, like ROCH). I don't mean I don't enjoy them regardless, but my disbelief isn't suspended, it's broken :) I also don't enjoy the often OTT acting I've seen in them.

Korean wuxia-type dramas (only of course they call them sageuks) I like just fine because they are much more realistic. The only problem is, they are so bloody long! Part of the reason I enjoyed and finished Legend/HGD/Damo etc is because they weren't 80+ eps long! I mean, I loved what I've seen of Jumong so far, but I haven't finished yet because 81 eps is crazy. Usually my attention span wanders a lot and I have enough trouble finishing even a jdrama in one piece, let alone a kdrama with ep count in triple digits, or a Taiga with 40+ (I loved what I've seen of Yoshitsune so far, but once again, got sidetracked). I think my problem is I have literally hundreds of dramas at home so there is always something else to distract me.

Btw, you asked about Jumong subs earlier. I have the official, YesAsia edition, excellent but psychotically pricy. Fansubs for this are supposed to be good, though.

Bichunmoo is very good, actually, probably the best c-wuxia I've seen so far: because it's part Korean, it's like the offspring of a wuxia cdrama and a sageuk: it still has the whole 'mystically good fighters and sects' stuff but is also a lot more low-key about it and realistic. And the leads can act. I think I'll actually watch some more of it tonight.
