Stargate SG-1: Season 9, eps 5-8
9.5: The Powers That Be:
+She also impresonates Goa’uld. She has no restraints.
+Daniel’s "moral high ground" never works out. Never. At least she’s yelling at him for it.
+And, cue more religious rhetoric.
+:Landry seems to very much want to get reconnect with Lam.
+Ooo...her dad. Makes sense.
+Oh yeah, I can tell this religion stuff is going to drive me crazy.
9.6: Beachhead:
+Teal’c wins at basketball. No one is surprised. He and Vala are cute.
+Daniel has shaved. Thank the stars.
+Aww, does Jack not want to share his Sam with other general?
+OH BLESS EVERY STAR IN THE SKY, IT’S SAM!!!!!
+Show, you denied me Teal’c/Sam/Daniel hugging. I object.
+I think Teal’c misses his Jack.
+I see "smart people being tricked into stupid things" syndrome is attacking.
+I predict Vala will return pregnant and with no father in sight, and that the baby will be Cabled(not taken into the future, just be an adult in the time it takes to blink.) Why? Because I am well trained.
9.7: Ex Deus Machina:
+Well of course the only thing Sam’s unpacked is the computer. It’s the most important thing.
+Nobody gives the Moses-like speeches like Teal’c.
+Gerak only makes me miss Bra’tac more.
+WELL, HELLO, BA’AL!!!
+I see that with the beard gone, we are color coding Daniel and Cameron so they can be told apart.
+With Daniel, Cameron will just rip the patch off of to attach the SG-1 patch. Sam and Teal’c get begging puppy eyes. I’m sure there’s a message there. Probably "I can take Daniel if he objects, but these two could hurt me if I don’t get permission first."
+Sam’s "not exactly" single? Show, did you give me Sam/Jack and make it 100% off screen?
+Hmm...Ba’al in many places at once? I smell clones.
+My my my...Teal’c, have we discovered how to be deceitful? (Ok, not 100% new, but not usually that...obvious. But you can’t blame him.)
+Loser Jaffa, turning on Teal’c. What’d Gerak ever do for you that Teal’c didn’t?
+Yup, I called it. Clones. I think blondie figures she has it made. All that Ba’al at her disposal...
9.8: Babylon:
+I think that Teal’c prays for Jack to come back every night. And Cameron loves making him do so.
+What’s this? Are these Jaffa actually vaguely in Teal’c and Bra’tac’s class?
+These Landry/Lam scenes aren’t the father/daughter scenes I’m used to on this show, but they’ll do.
+This "torture Cameron" training montage is actually very entertaining.
+Actually, this whole episode makes me think of an AU Last Samurai.
+That was actually a pretty fun episode.
There is an appalling lack of Bra’tac and Thor so far this season. And Ishta, but I accept I won’t be getting her back. Whatever. Teal’c still sneaks off-world every other weekend to visit her and ask Ry’ac when he’s going to give him grandbabies. Or so says my world.
The question is, will I be able to make myself watch season 2 of SGA anytime soon after this? At this point, only the eventually coming of Sam and the sheer awesomeness of Teyla are much of an incentive. Oh, and the very pretty man with dreads. I'm assured I'll like him. Being reminded of how much better SG-1 is only makes my problems with SGA stand out more. (I love Ford, too, but I know he’s only around a bit in S2, and Weir SHOULD be the most awesome thing ever, but the writers are so cheerfully at butchering her to make Sheppard look good-and failing miserably because it still always just comes across as his and McKay’s stupidity forcing her into bad positions so she has to try to clean up their mess, but we aren’t supposed to notice who caused the mess-that it’s painful to watch, and it’s a large part of what’s making it hard for me to more than passingly like Sheppard, and while I liked McKay is SG-1 after his first couple appearances, he mostly annoyed me there.)
Hmmm...you know, I actually can’t tell who’s leading SG-1, Sam or Cameron.
ETA: Speaking of Teyla, I need a Teyla Icon. Someone want to point me to some? I believe I've seen one with text along the lines of "someone needs to be reminded that kneecapping is a privilege, not a right," but can't remember where I saw it.ETA 2: Speaking of icons, another one I've seen around is Sam looking at Daniel and Cameron with text saying "and then she realized...they were all just alike." Can anyone point me to that one?
