Cantarella Vol 9

Ok, seriously, is anyone in this AU NOT in love with their sibling?

Not including the whole "chain up Chiaro and torture him a whole bunch" bit in the last volume, Cesare has added attempting to rape Lucrezia (WTF? Oh Cesare…) and ordering her and Chiaro’s new born son to be murdered. May I just repeat for a moment that he ordered the death of the son of the man he loves and his younger sister(who he also has 50,000 complexes over, brotherly and otherwise)? Can we say "all hopes of redemption lost"? Yes, I think we probably can. I don’t think we can really count his letting the baby live, as it was only so it could be a pawn.

Ok, seriously, Lucrezia needs to change her perfume for something. Virtually every male she meets wants to rape her. At this point, I think only Chiaro, Alfonso, Volpe and her father haven’t tried at it. AND I’M NOT SURE I TRUST MORE THAN TWO OF THEM!!! (Ok, fine, the pope is a sucky father, but he wouldn’t do that, so I guess I only don’t trust Volpe…)

And Sancia has decided to be Lucrezia’s BFF and do all her thinking for her. That is sweet. Except for the part where I’m pretty sure Sancia would betray her to Cesare in a heartbeat…

Then there’s Alfonso. He and Cesare should have a "very wrong sister complex" face off. And I am amused at Higuri’s blatantly keeping it so that only Chiaro gets to have sex with Lucrezia. Uhm…True (only non-incestuous, non-bisexual, non-master/servant) Love FTW?

(They’re all so screwed…)

Chiaro is moping and being a winemaker way off somewhere. I hope he gets over it soon. And…uhm…did Niccolo get a personality transplant or something? Where’s all his sorcery and scheming? Well, at least it seems he’s about to dropkick Chiaro back to Rome. To kill Cesare.

Oh, and it seems that Cesare has decided to pretend that Volpe is Chiaro or some such. Oy. Uhm…at least someone in the book (Volpe) will finally be kinda happy? Well, Sancia is getting semi-regular Cesare, and I’m sure that makes her happy.

(They’re all so screwed…)

I sense deep, bad, wrong things in Alfonso’s future. That have nothing to do with his incestuous feelings for Sancia or his willingness to let his wife keep sex pets. Or whatever he thinks Chiaro will be once he gets him installed in the house for Lucrezia. Uhm, yeah.
