Anything she writes is impressive but most of it is all different. I own her earliest published trilogy, which is fairly straight scifi (Hammered, Worldwired, Scardown) - great female protagonist, Carnival (scifi and an exploration of sexism, I guess) - great homosexual main characters, Dust (first in a trilogy with the other books just being written) - scifi with quest medieval story on a generation ship - great female protagonists -, New Amsterdam - which has a vampire detective and a mage forensic specialist in a rewritten Victorian USA on zeppelins, A Companion to Wolves - which is her and Sarah Monette's take on animal companions (which I'm waiting for the paperback to buy - all the other ones I own and love for different reasons), Undertow - where the incredible planet and its backstory and the internet version are the most exiting bits but the characters are strong too.

AND of course you know that she's got 12 books planned in the Promethean Age, of which she's sold four and Ink & Steel which has the Kit Marlow backstory has just been published.

The lady is recommended. As is her blog: http://www.livejournal.com/users/matociquala/
