Dear mangaka: I do not read your manga to see the heroine sitting around, doing her best Buttercup impersonation. That bit? Only works with Buttercup.
I like Zakuro and it was fun seeing him again, but watching him giggle circles around Hyoue has a limited period where it’s fun. It also seems that, yup, Aoi still only annoys me if he isn’t interacting with Ateko. (Disclaimer: I do not ship them. At all. Not even in the “if I did fanon shipping, I would” way. She just brings out what small good side he has.)
Main upside was Hayato. I don’t always go for the hateful bastards who help out anyway, but I do like him. Mostly, I think, because it takes the form of generations of ingrained belief that he doesn’t want to admit he doesn’t believe quite as strongly anymore, as opposed to being a hateful bastard because the fangirls like them.
