Actually, it was pretty ingenious--the author set it up as a wet dream Shinrei had, but by the middle of the fic, you forget that it's all a dream. And at the end, he thinks to himself, "Okay, wait, WTF just happened? Why was I dreaming about screwing Kyo's woman?"
