(no subject)

Got flat tire on way home from errands.  More specifically, the tread tore loose and flapped around while I was pulling over to investigate, but the tube stayed inflated, so I was getting "weird vibrations/sound,"  not "flat tire bounce."  As I was on the frontage road to the highway, I decided to pull off into the nearest access road(about 20 yards.)  Flapping tread stripped wires connected to the fuel system loose (we're talking about 1 1/2 ft of flapping tread, though I didn't know that yet) resulting in my car dying as I was turning.

In theory, I will have my car back sometime tomorrow.

In theory.  They have to find out exactly what that did to the car, first.  The tread also whacked the *hem* out of the car's body right around the area.

Amusingly, I came home to notifications from ebay that I won 2 auctions.

And to a message from [personal profile] telophasethat what I am officially calling a Care Package of books was on the way.  (Free books>>>Anything.  Except free car repairs.  Which I will not get.)

And now I will read and have milk and cookies while I decide whether I want to watch Hellboy or Onmyoji, or start Hansungbyulbok tonight.

Yikes! I managed to rip tread off a tire once, but not to that extent. (Just to the extent that I brought it in because it was "driving funny" and the mechanic brought me into the work area, showed me the tire, and said "That's what we call a 2-mile tire: as in it's unsafe to drive over 2 miles an hour.")

The worst part is that if I'd just pulled over instead of trying to be considerate of my fellow motorists and get completely off the road, I probably would have just had a flat!
