I haven't sat down and analyzed it, but after that, despite the fact that its a serial killer after women, the violence doesn't seem to be as strictly dominated by gender. Doing it that way makes sense, as the opening plotline revolves around a serial killer targetting women, but having that as the first thing you see when you start reading...
