Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle Ch 198-200

THE TITLES PAGE OF CH 198 IS LETHAL! LETHAL! (It’s the one with the adolescent Kurogane and Fai, and the toddler Syaoran. I think the only reason a toddler Sakura wasn’t included is that she would make the cuteness level be so high that there would be no living fans left to support Clamp.) LITTLE ONES HUGGING AND BLUSHING AND HOLDING HANDS! Little Syaoran swearing to remove the seal FWR put of Little Sakura! And hey, Kurogane and Fai are back! Not even overwhelming cuteness could make me stop missing them.

I think I need to go back and reread the scene with the clones where clone!Sakura visits clone!Syaoran in vol 1. They were “cute but uninteresting” to me at the time, so I didn’t pay as much attention to them as I should have. Though I do think she was a lot more enthusiastic and touchy, and he was flustered and nervous, though I may be imposing drunk!clone!Sakura scenes on it. And also talks about cooking and how real!Syaoran (who is not really named “Syaoran,” just like “Sakura” isn’t her real name…) is a good cook and learned that from his father, who was a better cook than his mother. (Does this come up in a part of Cardcaptor Sakura that I haven’t read yet?) AND BOTH SERIES ARE GOING ON ABOUT COOKING!

So, unless Syaoran is a year or two older than Sakura, her comment about knowing him half her life means that both sets were 14 when the series started, right? (That is, the events here, which should be at the same point, as far as the timeline goes, as the beginning of the series.) Because she says that, shortly, she’ll have known him for “more than half my life,” and they met just before her seventh birthday. (Mind you, the ages were probably sated before, and I just forgot…) And doesn’t that girl know that saying you’ll tell someone something important on a special day means you won’t get to? Silly fictional characters, not reading the rulebooks in advance.

*runs around flailing some over the end of the chapter*

So, I’m thinking this is when FWR resets time and replaces them with the clones and alters family structures and such.
