First of all, I an utterly scandalized that you read them out of order!
Second...IMO, while I liked it, I do think it's the weakest of her books that I've read so far. Her other books always have a secondary focus on things like post war trauma, inheritance laws, women's roles in society, etc., and that's a lot of what makes them enjoyable. Aside from Bunter, this one is also almost completely devoid of Wimsey's supporting cast, and they tend to bounce off him very well. It's also missing a lot of the wit from other books.
