Clearly, I don't know many average Mexican women*

What Your Height Says About You

You are a gifted communicator, and you understand other people well.

You are compassionate and empathetic. You feel other's pain a little too easily.

Because of your open heart and open mind, many people admire and adore you.

You are classy and well mannered. You have the art of charm mastered.

You are about as tall as the average Mexican woman.

*Mind you, the bulk of the hispanic women I know are American(as in, born here), not Mexican(as in, originally from Mexico, which is how most here make the distinction), but I wonder if the meme makes that distinction? (But in both cases, most I know are a good 3-5 inches taller than me.)

ETA: Someone else got Australian, so I guess they do make the distinction. And so my geographical location bites me in the tush.

My height gives me "You are about as tall as the average Australian woman," so I would guess that they do indeed mean women-living-in-Mexico for yours.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, cool. I think I'm just not used to most people (by this, I mean "non-hispanics around here who don't bother looking past their noses") making the Mexican/hispanic distinction. It may just be a small town Texas thing.

Alas, I think it is not. There are a horrifying number of horsepeople who use "Mexican" as a catchall term for any Spanish-speaking barn worker, regardless of origin or citizenship.

I got the same result, except I'm the average height of a Peruvian woman.

...Personally, I have no idea. As a Venezuelan woman, I was below average. And from all my Latin American RP mates (from several countries, most from Mexico and Chile), I know I'm the shortest. Soooooo, I guess Latin females in general are as tall as anyone else, but maybe they're thinking about, dunno, people with strong Indian heritage or something.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Blech. Yeah, I have to do a lot of tongue biting at "Mexicans" in general.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe everyone's height says warm and fluffy things about them?

I find the comparison thing odd, though. "You are as tall as famous person/average sixe of item" would make more sense, IMO.

[identity profile] magicnoire.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently, I'm the height of your average Vietnamese woman.

I got German. Part of mine was okay, but the rest of it was quite wrong. :)

I'm between 6' and 6'1'', so I'm slightly taller than the average Dutch man.

[identity profile] mycenae.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm about as tall as the average British man. Yay? This is such a random comparison. Also I am miffed at the implication that the average British man shares the same super special qualities that the quiz told me I have. Average heighted British men are infringing on my quiz based specialness!

[identity profile] ostia.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
5'1"?

Most Mexican women I've met were taller than me as well, so I'm wondering where it is that they're hiding all of these short, Mexican women.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is apparently about a foot taller than the average Mexican woman.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Not in Texas, that's for sure. Or...wherever you're from.

And that is, indeed, my height.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, not fond of their comparison choices myself.

I'm totally confused about how this is supposed to work. Wouldn't all 5 ft 6 in. tall people get the same thing? Or is it sneaking around on my computer and getting additional info?

[identity profile] ostia.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Central Texas~

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm...in theory. Are other 5'6" people getting different things? (I only know heights if told!)

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
...

What town?

*is near central Texas...you should be able to see where in the profile*

[identity profile] ostia.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Copperas Cove.

Looking at a map, not all that far away, actually. I always thought it was further north.

I'm apparently in between the average Korean woman and the average Australian woman. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go mix some kim chee with my Vegemite...

Let me know how that works out.

This is not helping my gender issues.
But at least now I know my american size *can't handle anything else than centimeters*
