So, I'm watching Saiyuki Reload: Gunlock. Ok, first of all, what was the animation budget for this? $5? And when did Goku start being 12?

Anyway, I have reached the part where Yaone and Dokugaku save Kougaiji with The Power of Their Love, which may or may not be somewhere around my favorite part of the entire manga. ~~Stop looking at me like that.~~

Since I watch the anime mostly for the Kougaijitachi filler, should I watch the whole thing, or just recommended eps? (Particularly appreciated are "These are not my friends! They are my subordinates! And we are enemies! I do not-YAONE! Stop talking to Hakkai! LIRIN! Get off his shoulders!" moments, because we like watching our High Strung Emotastic Woobie Prince try to be a cool villain and fabulously fail at it. Yes, yes we do. We await the day Hakkai invites them over for tea.) And when is the three-armed Goku moment? Or have I missed it?

ETA: Wait! Was it a three armed Goku, or everyone looking like monkeys? I forget.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, but if it's just mindless entertainment you're after, Gunlock is worth watching up until DVD volume 6. Volume 7 from episode 24 onward is just pure baloney that has absolutely nothing to do with the manga. Kou's gang appears but all they get to do is sit back and watch the circus. Volume 6 is fun mostly for watching Sanzo survive getting shot 13 times. ^_~ He gets shot 2 more times in volume 7 but, you know, it becomes less fascinating by then. The last time Kou's gang get to do anything is Vol. 5.

Watching Sanzo get shot isn't always a bad thing.

Exactly. ODD loves to abuse the man she adores, yuss. X-D

Anywho, the eps from vol 5 you'll most likely be interested in are 17 and 18. 19 and 20 are just Hazel-uses-Lirin-to-get-at-Sanzo episodes.

Someday, I'm going to try to compile a Crazy Shit What Happens to Sanzo Master List.

*nods* I've been avoiding the scanlations because I want to read Reload 9 without knowing in advance everything that happens. =P

I have insufficent self-control for that. But getting it one chapter at a time is like dying by a thousand tiny paper cuts, so!

I hear thee. I just want this one volume at least a little unspoiled because I'm thinking it will be the last one.

IMO, she'd have to wrap things up ludicrously fast. Speed of sound fast. Though I'd have to actually sit down and pay attention to calculate it.
