(no subject)

I am still in the cold spot at work.  A mild cold front (a "cool front") has arrived.  The thermostat has not been adjusted for it.

It's already as cold as it usually is around 10 or 11.  (It's only 5:30)

To offset my tale of woe, here is Jackson and I at the mall at lunch today, as he plays on those cars that you put quarters in and they rock and play music (Mom was off buying him a jacket):

Jackson: *climb climb*  *sees other kids on moving cars* "Make move Meg!"
Me:  "No, that will scare you."
Jackson:  "Make move!"
Me: *plunks in trolley*  "Look, this one has two steering wheels."
Jackson:  "goes spastic the way only toddlers in kiddie heaven can*  *two minutes pass*  "Make move Meg!"

*repeat demands for over ten minutes*

Me:  "Ok, but it will just scare you."
Jackson:  "Yay!" (yes, he actually says "yay."  People have trained him.)

Two seconds after it started he practically flew out of the thing and clung for dear life.  There were other kids who enjoyed the ride, though.

There was lots of "see how the others are rocking and shaking? You don't like that." But does he listen? Nnnnooooo. (Was clingy until he was put in his carseat, too. But then, he was tired when I met them there.)

Yup. You can tell them the candle flame will hurt and even display it by lighting paper on fire, but they won't believe you until they stick a finger in when you aren't looking.
