I am all con-ed out (as of yesterday actually) but had fun and seem to have managed to avoid con-crud. I am also somehow mostly packed, save that the box I grabbed for the books that won’t fit in my bags is actually way too big. I watched Ponyo, which is Studio Ghibli’s utterly adorable movie inspired by “The Little Mermaid.”
Here are a few of the things I got the ones that are almost guaranteed to inspire jealousy among the people who would have longed to go:
Ellen Kushner’s The Man With the Knives (Each page is ridiculously gorgeous. After I read it, I may pass it on to somewhat else for the proper bribe.)
A signed copy of L. Timmel Duchamp’s Love’s Body, Dancing in Time.
Catherynne Valente’s The Omikuji Project: Cycle One, which was supposedly only available at WisCon. (I suspect it’ll be available elsewhere eventually.)
Jim C. Hine’s Red Hood’s Revenge, which isn’t out until July.
And a signed copy of Nnedi Okorafor-Mbachu’s Zahrah the Windseeker.
