UNCUT SEASON TWO OF VAMPIRE DIARIES SPOILERS WARNING.

While I dislike the dialogue, having seen the episodes (personal taste: not a fan of much dialogue in fanvids), this is a pretty good intro/conversion vid for Caroline/Tyler. And since a lot of people I know who have issues getting into the show boil it down to "Damon," I should mention that the small bit with him in the vid highlights his loser-ness quite nicely. (Personally, the plotline in general-both Caroline individually and her plotline with Tyler-so far, takes care of quite a few of my issues regarding vampires in fiction.)

(Unrelatedly: I am currently watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie and am probably the first person to find it kinda boring. This saddens me.)

H and I were underwhelmed by the new Sherlock Holmes movie, too, so it's not just you. Maybe I would have liked it a little better if I hadn't heard people singing its praises for months and months before I got around to seeing it.

Yeah, the hype is what brings on the disappointment. The main problem with the movie itself is how convinced it is of its brilliance.

It looked pretty boring to me, honestly. I mean, I might be excited about it while it was going on? Just because - flashing lights! Booming noises! (...although....sausagefest...) But I'd instantly be indifferent to it once it ended.

The movie was basically an action flick that sometimes thought it was way deeper and intellectual than it really was. It needed to shave off about 30 minutes, and then it would have been pretty fun. As it was they stretched each bit out just too much for it to work.
