Ah Remington Steele, you are so awesome that the worst fic you could get was borderline plagiarism..
No, seriously. Over half the fics at fanfiction.net are...things that were actual episodes. Sometimes a couple episodes mushed together. And a few movies. But mostly stuff we saw plenty of in the series. Upside was no slash, mispairings, or obvious Mary Sues.

No it doesn't. His past came up 50 thousand times. They're too busy making little con artists and detectives to bother with that now:

Synopsis: Laura and Steele have been married for almost two years when someting from his past threatens to end their marriage
Gee, I dunno, her mother, sister, bother-in-law(and their little ones) all seem to like him and assume he's part of the family as it is...and frankly, seeing as he's already spent about 5 years taking care of her in one way or the other, I don't think the lie is going to be a huge thing, at least, not enough to supercede the fact that SHE'S also known he wasn't who he claimed to be the whole time... Her father doesn't exactly count, what with no one hearing from him in about 20 years...
Title: Guess Who, Steele
Synopsis: A month after Ireland. Steele is going to take a trip to meet Laura's family. Will this american family love an Irish bloke? Or will they hate him enough for Laura to leave him?
Hopefully to get an Irish foot to the butt and very decisive nods from Holt females before the door was slammed. *but no, angsting and such*

Synopsis: Laura's father comes back to town.
I have no words. You know, what with the subject never even really coming up in the series(though they were clearly off to do babymaking and nothing was stopping that man at the end)

Synopsis: Remington is having second thoughts on whether he wants Laura to have his baby.
Because A) He'd ever be able to stay away that long and B) She'd let him(end of s3/beginning of s4 is the ultimate Steele shippiness because it proves this fic could NEVER happen)

Because it never does? And she pretty much always right about it?

Favorite TV show ever, one of my favorite movies, scared to look.

Ok, really, how many people from his past does fanfic need, anyway? I mean, there was plenty of that(resulting in some of my favorite episodes--I mean, FELICIA!!!! CHALMERS!!!!) in the series, but come on! And Laura's already dealt with several women from his past quite well...a new one REALLY isn't going to bother her. Especially after the end of the series.
