Isn't the third series of books about Treize's sister? I really, really like the anime, despite my aggravation over Lillian not being allowed to know Travas and Treize's identities beyond the fact that her not knowing can be used for drama and comedy.


I've read some Guin spoilers too, and really really want to read those parts. (And it sounds like things with Istavan go differently in the books?)
