The New Adventures of Robin Hood

As there has been some interest expressed, I bring you pics for the late 90s show The New Adventures of Robin Hood, which tried the  to play Robin Hood myth like the Xena and Hercules shows...except that what worked there failed miserably.  I watched about 10 minutes, and all I recall is Robin, Marian and randoms who I assume were Will Scarlet, Alan A Dale and Little John, bursting into John's throne room with Marian dressed like a Herc/Xena walk on and striking up a pose while Robin did his thing...and that Prince John's mistress or whatever had a poodle.

Yes, you saw and read right.  Halfway through the series, Robin and Marian were recast and the show didn't explain it.  Not a "Robin died and another Robin took his place" thing...they just had new leads...

"What?  Wait, I get it with Marian, but can't I please have sleaves in January?  Pretty please?"(NO!!  You must dress like Hercules!)



"LOOK!  For the last time, I'm not Xena, ok?"



"Does that mean you aren't Hercules?"  "Yup.  And you aren't Thor.  Seriously."

Actually the first thing I think of isn't "Hercules" or "Xena" so much as it's "Indiana Jones". And "gratefulness about not remembering the show" does not equate to "interest expressed".

... and would it be really mean of me to point out that January is the second hottest month of summer in New Zealand?

OMG. I remember this show. Specifically I remember watching one episode that came on on a Sunday afternoon on a weird channel because nothing else was on. I also remember thinking "that sure was stupid".

I know. It's like they literally just borrowed the Herc and Xena costumes...and, really, what work in a fantasy greek setting 300~ years ago just doesn't cut i for something set less than a thousand years ago with a VASTLY different society...Robin Hood needs to rest SOMEWHERE in the realm of reality...
