quick poll question for the flist

How do I make a poll but put it under a cut?  There will be a "Yoshitsune character death" poll, but that would be spoilery, even though i won't be including names...

Same way you do any cut - after you click the "Post Poll" button, just put the cut tag in above the poll before posting the entry to LJ.

whenever i post a poll, i never actually see the poll itself in the field for the body of the post, and anything I type in or include always appears after the poll. I assumed that was the case for everyone, but I guess not.

(of course, LJ wouldn't LET me post polls for about a year and I still don't know why...)

Hmmm...

Are you using the visual text editor? If so, switch to teh code and see if it comes up.

Or a client to post? If so, try posting through the online LJ interface.

Or maybe try logging in with a different browser?

You can also try posting it, then editing - the poll will end up being one line pointing elsewhere, but you ought to be able to type stuff on top of it in that case.

If none of that works, I think LJ support is the next step, because that's odd behavior.

i don't use any clients or editors, just LJ itself, using rich text.

it sounds like the post then edit way might work for me though, so i'll try that.

thanks

I'm thinking it may be the rich text doing it to you. If you switch to the other for this post, it might help.
