Shirogane no Karasu ch 4

You may recall when I read the first 3 chapters, I was wondering about this guy:

He has appeared.  I love him.  I don't want him to be evil.

What?  John has a higher bounty?  I feel he will not tolerate such a thing.

He knows how to make a good entrance:

Do I detect a past relationship here?

He also understands the proper use of subordinates:

And of course, the proof that John and Goku are long lost twins:

PS-I love Lu.  Not as much as Yuya, but it's early days yet.  Then again, I like most of Akimine Kamijyo's female characters...

I shall now wait patiently(HA!) for more scanslations.

I looooove Kazami. He tries to be cool... but he's a retard. A big, lovable retard. I'm soooo sad that I can't get raws in Japanese anymore... I have the latest few chapters in Chinese only, which unfortunately doesn't do me much good especially since Really Big OMG Things have been happening...

Me too. x__x I really, really like this manga... I'm desperate enough to read it that I've considered shelling out the $400 to subscribe to the magazine if I get a good-paying job in the near future! *laugh* There's got to be an easier (and cheaper) way...

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
well, hopefully it'll get licensed or a new person will provide the raws(or both)

[identity profile] sanada.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
*laugh* It probably won't get licensed for a long time... SDK was one of the most popular titles in Shounen Magazine, but it didn't get licensed until around volume 15 or so when the anime came out.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
very true. it seems, though, that a lot more manga are getting licensed earlier in their run these days.

[identity profile] sanada.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
True, but those are almost always monthly series. I don't know why they take so long to license weeklies... you'd think they'd license them faster! Even popular series with over 100 chapters that run in Shounen Jump (the most popular magazine) take forever to get licensed! Maybe they're more expensive or something.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
is it strange that this somehow makes me long for the days i knew nothing of scanslations and could not long for unlicensed series?

As far as 100 chapters goes...shouldn't SnK be around 20 or so chapters now?

[identity profile] sanada.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
*laugh* I know... but I haven't had those days since I was in middle school. o__o;; I buy a ton of licensed manga but I still want the hot new stuff from Japan RIGHT AWAY!!

Yeah, it's been running since May so there are about 22 or 23 chapters now. ^__^

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
I buy everything licensed if it gets licensed.

If we're in the 20, then 100 isn't THAT far off...*tries to think positive*

[identity profile] sanada.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
For my favorite series, I have the licensed version, the scanlations, and the Japanese version... hehe, it gets really bad if the Japanese version has a reissue with new covers, or if the English version has been put out in multiple editions from different companies, because then I have to have all that too. I figure that offsets the things that I read in scanlations but would never buy, like most yaoi or the past few volumes of Bleach. *laugh*

Over a year for them to announce the license... several months before they release anything... *depressed* I'm so impatient~

Now that SDK has decided to be more deep and involved since the midteens, Bleach i my mindless shonen action manga. None of the other shonen I read really falls into that category(though I am pondering getting Kekkaishi)

There's just enough manga out there to get me through long waits(i mean, i surviced...what? 3-5 years for spiral? however long it's been since the anime was licensed...)

[identity profile] sanada.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I really enjoyed Bleach as my mindless shounen until the current arc... which the English version will soon begin. It huuuuurts. Ooh, Kekkaishi was pretty good. It didn't really "grab" me, but I liked it. Hehe, I've been waiting for spiral since the anime came out in japan in 2002... x__x FINALLY. The stuff they license is so WEIRD. They're more likely to license some crappy unfinished series or a blatant ripoff from one of the third-rank publishers than they are to get something like Spiral!

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Getting my hands on the spiral manga is one of my biggest obsaessions ever. Now that i have it, i shall treasure it for all eternity. I'm rather in awe of how little and cute ayumu and hiyono are drawn, though...

I love the fact that he has needs (but won't wear) glasses ... we need more near-sighted hot action characters!

(BTW, I added comments to rachelmanija's remarks about SDK 6-10, if anyone cares ... I hate that I missed her initial posting last night, when people were still discussing it ... .)
