True Love is a drunken man raping his petrified employee on the floor of his bar

Just in case there were any doubts whatsoever that yes, one of Entertainment Weeklies "Greatest Fictional Couples of All Time" really DID begin with a brutal, 100% unambiguous rape, I have located the scenes on youtube.

Note the "you do this to me" talk, the crying, and the trying to leave, among other things.

I've always found the whole Luke-and-Laura worship not just mind boggling but repulsive. As is Tony Geary, btw. What a slimy looking little weasel.

Personally, I think "repulsive" is being kind. The fact that that is essentially viewed as daytime drama's greatest romance disgusts me more than there are words for. I was watching General Hospital when their son found out about it...listening to her defend him and his pity party made me despise them both. "Oh, he raped me but I forgave him so you should too." "I raped her and I hate myself for but I lllloooooovvvvveeeeee her."

I think fans go "oh, well, but later he rescues her from evil Russians and he saves her from rape, so it's ok..." or some such...
