 Flipflopping between Chaucer and Sayers in your reading while operating on about 2 hours less sleep than you usually have because someone called and woke you up early is kinda...interesting. 

ETA:  [personal profile] prozacpark!  The bit in the Chaucer you mentioned yesterday, was it right after Panadarus laid the guilt trip on Criseyde?

I don't think I've gotten that far? The scene I meant was the one where she goes to Hector to ask for asylum. And my translation said: "She humbly thanked him for these words of cheer,/And would have thanked him more had he desired." Which, um, yeah. I think she was going to offer him sex? I may be reading into it too much, but the implication is there? Or maybe I just have a warped brain.

Oh, but I'm glad to know that there's more implied sex to come than just that. ;)

It was...maybe a quarter of the way through Book 2?

I'm spending a lot of time going "so...uhm...why do you really want this guy marrying into the family, Pandarus?"

But dude, seriously...talk about trapping awoman into marriage. Actually, Chaucer seems to be setting her up as the real victim in this.
