3 random Heroes thoughts

1. Which is worse, hooking up with your father's nurse, who you know has a crush on you, immediately after breaking up with your unstable, drug addicted boyfriend, or hooking up with the daughter of your patient who is under extreme stress due to her father's illness and just having ended a bad relationship, who apparently has only you for any sort of emotional support? (yeah, I kinda think Peter wins the award there...)

2. I have realized that "save the cheerleader, save the world" doesn't mean "save the cheerleader so she can help save the world," but rather "save the cheerleader so that guy who eats BBBRRRRRAAAAAIIIIINNNNNSSSSSSS won't effectively become immortal." Sad now.

 3. It is also my official opinion that if you can defend Mohinder in any way, shape or form, you officially give up the right to call any female character in existence TSTL. Ever. Though at least he is pretty to look at and fun to facepalm to. (Also, Peter: almost as bad. And less cute. I think Nathan stole all the brains in the family and didn't leave any for Peter.)

I don't defend Mohinder. Well, beyond feeling that he's way hotter than Peter and has a nice accent. And, uh, in season three we discover that the actor spent the writer's strike at the gym. You just want to give him a pat on the head and politely request he doesn't try discussing the pseudoscience of the show.

You don't, but I've seen him defended and praised left and right the last couple years. You'd think I'd be used to fandom's double standard by now, and I am, but I'm still allowed to be annoyed by it.

I have to issues with his looks, which I quite approve of, just with the things thatcome with them.

I mean, if they wrote the character as genuinely being smart instead of just everyone acting like he's smart and not TSTL, he'd be insanely awesome. As it is, the character's best qualities are directly connected to my desire for a pinup of him. SPOILER he looks awesome without a shirt.

DUDE! His BFF in India? I'd like Mohinder so much better if he had that guy's personality.

Maybe a halfway point? Or two-thirds point? Because the guy's awesome and all, but too sensible to stay on the show. That guy, but with Mohinder's base mission, how 'bout?

*sigh*

That's true. I don't think you get to be sensible and a fairly straight "good guy" here.

Okay, how 'bout him being largely skeptical, but a solid scientist. He knows his father died investigating this stuff, so when he goes to New York to clear out his apartment, he figures, what the heck, he'll check out some of the reports, perhaps to apologize to the random people the man had quite possibly been harassing.

He comes across more than one case of undeniable awesome. He takes a purely scientific bent to it (while going OMG WOW inside) and records everything carefully -- including digital offsite backups, not just a DNA sample and scribbles in a notebook. And once he has sufficient data to form a research base, he returns to India where he has enough contacts to get a good job where they won't fire him if he completes all his work early and uses the extra time on his pet project. Possibly investigate a few cases around India. Most of the stuff with the States can be done remotely, like contacting the suspected Heroes via phone or email or what have you, and further studies involving travel could wait until he'd gathered enough data to carry legitimacy (since there's a difference between "There could totally be people who can fly" and "So here's documented evidence of people who can fly") and earn a grant.

And he works out on a regular basis so we get some nice shots of him without a shirt. Mmmm.
