Ulp.

I just volunteered beta services in about 90 Yuletide fandoms, and pointed out that I wasn't writing any stories betaing would get in the way of writing.

I must be insane.

And then I got sad at all the things I haven't read/watched enough of to be comfortable with offering up beta services.

Meanwhile, I just got spam e-mail with the name of my former pastor as the sender.  Not from him, of course, but it makes me wonder inf the church's e-mail account got hacked or something.

ETA:  Yuletide beta offerings post for anyone who's interested.

ETA 2:  To take the edge off the insanity:  many are single book/movie fandoms, and some were "offered but not requested"  JUST IN CASE.

Ahh, I trimmed the 'offered but not requested' off my list. Now, mind you, I still only offered a third of what you did. ;-)

I'm not contributing, which helps. (I figure there could still be last second requests.)

The only time I recall any additional requests being added after the close of signups was when some of the early/prolific but 'non-participating' pinch hitters were allowed to submit some requests. I'm not sure exactly how those were handled.

Last year, the pinch hitters were added to that list of people who hadn't had a story uploaded for them yet, but sorted towards the top so people clicking on the list would see them first.

Ahh...that must be what I'm misremembering. Thank you. :)
