Angel Sanctuary Vol 20

So, both Setsuna/Sara and Lucifer/Alexiel end up together? I do not know how that’s possible, but I approve.

I..uhm…wow? God is a giant computer! Adam Kadamon is the mother of all angels! And is sealed inside an egg! And all the angel fetuses commit the original sin of eating their own mother!

Alexiel only rejected Rosiel because it was the only way God would accept him! Lucifer was sealed into Nanatsusaya for freeing her from Eden! Rosiel was created to bear the burden of original sin!

God beheads Katan for telling Rosiel he loves him! Rosiel wanders around cradling Katan’s head!

Meanwhile, Lucifer confesses his brotherly (and apparently platonic) love for Michael as “The next time we meet, we shall be enemies. I’m looking forward to that.”

I think Belial is sulking at the war being called off. She’ll probably mess with Kurai to fill the void.

Raphael saves Barbiel, but is in a coma. I predict many, many poker games between Michael and Barbiel while the wait for him to wake up.

Since Uriel’s a forgetful idiot, Doll has to transfer her consciousness to the body of a little animal that Uriel created. He’s lucky she likes him.

I think I need to find out what the Baptist version of penance is.

I may be scared to finish Fairy Cube now.  And Cain Saga/Godchild.

I've heard that Count Cain is better than AS in terms of character design and plot, although I haven't progressed beyond the first instalment.

To be honest, I read AS only for the supporting cast.

I read it for the characters (major and supporting) and the WTF??? factor. There are a lot of interesting themes going on, but they get a bit lost in the insanely complicated plot. My favorites are Kira, Kurai, and Belial, though not always in that order.

Yes, Yuki Kaori certainly delivers in terms of the WTF? factor.

I didn't quite like the major characters...I think it might have been because I've binged a tad too much on manga during that period (7-8? years ago) and was a little tired of the stereotypical characterisation (personality-wise). It's just me, actually.

I'm not sure if I define anyone as major beyond Setsuna and Sara (since, as you say, the rest get pretty lost among the intricacies), but if Kira/Lucifer is a major I guess he'll be an exception.

Kira, Belial, Zaphkiel, Raziel, Michael (in no particular order).

Do you see why I love this series? I LOVE IT. XXDDDDDDD

I am slightly confuzzled as to how so relatively few people died.

I'd really say it's only Setsuna who counts. Even Sara tends to get lost a lot.

I don't think there are any characters I didn't enjoy to some degree, and certainly no boring ones.

Is there actually a character named Barbiel? My brain keeps dropping that final letter.

Having only read up to volume 9, I am tempted to just skip to 20! Would this be a particularly bad idea?

Yeah, that "l" at the end is a killer to remember. She's kinda awesome.

Yes, skipping would be a bad idea. I recommend reading all of it!

Ah, but would it be a particularly bad idea? I confess I'm not really into Angel Sanctuary because I can't be bothered to slow down enough to understand it. Still, I'm a plot completionist.

You will have absolutely no idea what's going on. And I think you need earlier revelations so that your brain will survive some of the final ones.
