The creative team, CLAMP, stormed the manga scene during the 1990s. You couldn't turn around without running into one of their projects: Card Captor Sakura, Clover, X, Magic Knight Rayearth, and more. Let's talk about these projects along with their newer titles like xxxHolic and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. What were their influences? What was their impact? When will they finish X already? Magical girls are a mainstay of anime and manga. Their focus on female narratives and friendship offer an alternative to the shounen battle model. How did the subgenre come about?
