So the thief is actually an orphan with innocence? Hoshino, do we really need a loud adolescent added to the cast? Maybe it'll be like Miranda where he gets shipped off and then comes back trained and awesome. Or maybe we'll never see him again.

But where are Miranda and Lenalee? It's been a while since we saw Miranda, and even longer with Lenalee. At least we had a nun (novice?) kicking Allen in the head and shooting Akuma to compensate.

Allen and Kanda being drawn all dark and demonic (almost) when they attack is fun. And did Kanda's partner (whose name I always forget) seriously cut off his own fingers to stop the Akuma virus from spreading? Excellent.

And I very much like Link so he'd better not be dead.

And apparently, the series is now on hiatus due to Hoshino's health. Didn't someone tell me a while back that there was a six month hiatus before because drawing the exorcists' uniforms caused a nervous breakdown?

Given how this left off (mid-arc, building to climax) I hope s/he (?) gets better soon.  And, you know, also for his/her own good.

I don't know about the exorcists' uniforms, but there was definitely a long period where new chapters were very spotty due to Hoshino's health issues.

I hope she's okay.... DX Her art is so beautiful and I've been wanting to read the series.

Mangaka just work soooooo much. Especially for SJ since it's weekly and is usually 15-20 pages a week. That's just a lot for anyone to handle. =-= Even with assistants....

Well, there's 178 chapters, so you could always read and pace yourself ans hope for the best...

Hoshino tends to make incredibly elaborate character designs, but I think she tends to forget that, after she makes the design, she has to keep drawing it every week. I suspect a monthly tite would look better for her.

Oh, is Emilia a novice? She's the police chief's daughter, and I didn't recognize her clothing as a uniform, so I thought she was just, I don't know, volunteering or something.

I am rather missing the girls, too, although Marie almost makes up for it with his cool-as-a-cucumber self-mutilation there. Hoshino's left us at an exciting spot...

For some reason, I had thought the last hiatus was because she was pregnant, but now I have absolutely NO idea where that came from! It is on hiatus for health reasons again, though.
