Things got serious! Ok, they’ve always been serious. But moreso! Also, I’ve reached the point where the anime completely diverged from the manga’s plotline, so I’ve reached the point where everything is new.
I’ve realized that all the insane plotting and analyzing that’s so ridiculous but is awesome for entertainment in this series? It’s like Death Note, but with more women doing things and being cool. And a likable lead.
It also has scenes like this:
ANGSTY SOON TO BE SERIAL KILLER: Behold my modified airgun! It makes no noise, will stun you with one shot, and kill you with six in rapid succession!
OVERLY PETITE HOSPITALIZED GIRL: Behold my modified airgun! It, too, is absolutely silent, and has been modified to shot anesthetic dart that will take you out with one shot.
OTHER GIRLS: So glad you’re on our side!
Also, Kanan is actually interesting in the manga! Or at least, entertaining. Also Eyes’s brother. He also seems a bit scared of Hiyono (ok, any intelligent person would be) which makes me curious about what’s up with her, especially as she’s being conveniently absent during most of the plotline with Kanan taking over the school, and my conspiracy-theorist mind is noting the new Watcher woman. *frets over her favorite*
We also finally get a sensible explanation for all the Blade Children being in the same school. Or at least, the beginning of one.
