I think what makes Jang-geum likable for me is that the K-drama does establish exactly what makes her good at both cooking and medicine--her observational skills, her highly honed senses--rather than just say that she's magically brilliant. XD
I love the eui-nyeo who was teaching her too! She's my favorite character!
