Somerhalder...I've raised my eyebrows a few times before? But he hasn't previously crossed the bounds of acceptable idealization (for someone whose job is to make the character come across as sympathetic) in the past. But this is just...men talking about how entertaining victimizing women can be. And, seriously, the in canon justification is going to be that it isn't believable that an attractive guy would stay single?
