Korra finale

Well, that ending was simultaneously "WHEE!" and "WTF pthbt no we are not impressed do over."


Actually, Korra achieving the Avatar state because she was depressed over losing her water bending as opposed to working for it makes me want to punch something.  Others have done well getting into why that's annoying so I'll avoid repetition this time.  I wouldn't have minded at all if season 2 had her dealing without having her waterbending. 

Most of the time, though, I was basically like this:

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AIRSHIPS EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AIRBATTLE HEY KORRA SWIMS LIKE ARIEL!!!!"  Not one word.


"500 Korra/Iroh fanarts are a go, if I know this fandom."

"Yes, Asami, destroy your father and take over his evil empire!"

"Dang...I was right about Amon being a bender?  I don't know how I feel about being right right now!"

"Do not touch airkids AWAY AWAY!"  "YES MEELO PRISON BREAK!"

And then basically this during all the "WE WILL BE DARK AND DEPRESSING AND HURT KORRA NOW OK?" stuff:  0_0


(Yes, I really do sound like this when i'm watching.  Ask twitter or trillian.)

Also, I remember when I thought I'd ship Korra/Mako a lot.  I suppose I don't anti-ship so much as dislike how they did it, but sigh.  It's ok Asami!  They are more fish in the sea!

Yeah, I'm not particularly happy with the finale, tbqh. It was pretty and flashy but... it didn't have a lot of substance. The soul was missing.

I feel like all of those same events could have happened with different pacing, and that would have fixed it for me. Really? Korra cries about losing her bending FOR THIRTY SECONDS and Aang shows up all "here you go!"? Bullshit.

(I still totally want my "Amon wins this battle" scenario, where the benders have to deal with not having bending for a significant amount of time and Pema learns 'em how to survive without whining.)

Also I am completely confused about Tarlok. Why you do this? Any of this?
