Happy Birthday to me!
Haaaaaapppppppyyyyyyy bbbbiiiiiiiirrrrrrrtttttttthhhhhhhdddddaaaaaaaayyyyyy ttooooooo mmm--
::gasp::
water...
Birthdays are cool, finals suck. But at least I'll be FREE as of Thursday around 10.
Meanwhile, my parents are funny, funny creatures. My b-day/x-mas gift list included the DVDs of both Pirates of the Caribbean and Tomb Raider 2. At dinner last night, Mom asked me which I wanted more, and I said Pirates. Mom said good, because she wanted to see Pirates but Dad wanted her to get me TR because he liked the first movie and hadn't seen the second yet. Came home, related the story to Dad, and apparently they'd decided to get me TR or something(likely he decided) but SHE wanted to see Pirates, not TR...parents can be so cute sometimes...
Next up, I FINALLY got me a correct copy of Superman: End of the Century. You might recall that I bought it a while back, only to find out that it was missing 16 or so pages. Well, earlier this week Waldenbooks got in another copy of it so I took the defective copy in to trade them out, only to find out that it had the saw problems...ended up exchanging my old copy of the for 21 Down: The Conduit. Anyway, went back in yesterday and they had a GOOD copy of it, so I started it last night and just finished it a bit over 30 minutes ago. Excellent, excellent book. Highly recommended, even if(like me) you're relatively clueless about recent Superman stuff, more specifically, Lex Luthor and his family(and I LIKED Lex...I never like Lex...I always hate him...)
That said, due to multiple discount coupons to Hastings(If I'd known the Hastings coupon was reusable, I would have held off on what I bought there, but I didn't know until he had rung me up) and Waldenbooks, I got myself quite a few TPBs this week. They are:
21 Down: The Conduit A-/B+(we're talking, right at 89-90)
The Hobbit (yup, there's a comic of it. Haven't read it yet, but the pictures are really, really purdy)
The Justice Society Returns
Sandman: Preludes and Nocturnes
Superman: End of the Century A+
Wonder Woman: Paradise Lost
AND
Simon Green's Deathstalker Legacy is finally out(good lord almighty...I knew the man has a fondness for long chapters, but chapter 1 is 90 pages long...)
And that's it...
Currently reading(novel): Deathstalker Legacy by Simon Green
Currently reading(comic): In between. Likely some old Hawkman and Hawkworld issues I have...
