EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!  Spent a few hours today with Myles, Jen and Jackson...FINALLY I got to see and cuddle the boy while he was wide awake(silly newborns...sleeping their life away)  Also?  He fussed for his daddy but quieted down for me.  *preens*  This is also the first time since he was born that I've seen him without her relatives around.  Which?  I love her family, and I love that they aren't doing the "we live in other towns so we can't help much" thing, but at the same time, I felt like I was intruding on their time with Jen and Jackson, you know?  Not that they made me feel that way or indicated that I was intruding in the least, but it was kind of "well they live over 2 hours away and I should let them have private time."  Or something like that.  I hope that's coming across right and not like I don't like them or they make me feel unwelcome, because that's not the case.

Awww...Squeaker is hiding behind the monitor, but making sure I'm looking for her.  Anyway, FMA

Up to ep 15.  Doesn't quite match the pure awesome of the manga, but it does it's best.

Sigh.  Every time Huges shows up, I want to tackle hug him then cart him off to safety to save him from his fate.  And I want to bawl every time he shows up.

Seeing Barry when he was human was odd, but gave him a few extra levels of creepiness.  Roy's reaction to Barry's crush on Hawkeye(and her calling him off) is one of my favorite csenes in the manga...I hope they keep it.

Speaking of favorite scenes, I litersally screamed(good thing I'm at the parents' place on the 2 acre lot instead of my apartment) when THE scene that moved the manga from "like" to "love" occurred...when Roy was about to use his flame powers in the rain and she tripped him, then told him he was basically useless in the rain and should stay down...NO ONE messes with the safety of Hawkeye's man, not even her man.

Speaking of Roy/Hawkeye, any other anime fans notice that at the end of ep 13, Hawkeye is the ONLY one in Roy's unit who didn't get damaged in the Roy/Ed fight...neither one would dare.  Ep 13, incidentally, is one of THE most awesome anime episodes ever...I've already watched the whole thing twice, and other parts even more.  Hawkeye's puppy and Roy's rant on loyalty and the fight and Ed and Roy cleaning up and HUGHES!!!!!  And the President, who, because of the manga, needs to diesufferdiesufferdiesufferdie for traumatizing Al.  Al may not hold it against him, but traumatizing Al puts you on my bad list for eternity(much like Akito in Fruits Basket hurting Tohru is unforgivable in the extreme and I will hate him for all eternity for it even if SHE forgave him)

And how much did I squee when Armstrong and his sparklies showed up?  A lot...and I rewound.  And I LOVE Scar's face in that scene(ok, I love Scar in general) "uhm...right...can you...stop doing that...please?  Let's get on with the death match before I puke."  Armstrong can never die.  I like in anticipation of his first literally backbreaking anime hug.

And finally, the BIG thing in ep 15...this is a spoiler for hte anime, but not the manga, as it's not how it happens there.

Roy killed Winry's parents.  That floored me.  I had to rewatch twice and then demand confirmation juyst to make sure I had it right.  He was ordered to because they were treating the Ishbalan soldiers, and he tried to kill himself afterwards because of it but was stopped, but...yeah.  And then at the end when he realizes that Ed and Al's friend Winry is their daughter?  Dang.  It hasn't affected my Roy love, because it wasn't because he was evil...he was a young soldier following orders in a horrible war, and he obviously hates himself for it.  Plus, Roy is rather protective of Ed, Al and Winry in general(not that he'd ever admit it)  and I figure this may send him over the overprotective(for Roy) edge. One of my big non-shippy things is characters who feel obligated to another character because of something they did to them in the past and can never compensate for.

Oh, and  [profile] bzoppa, I liked the second song instantly.  Then again, I'm pathetically easy to please when it comes to anime themes.

I'm pondering a "top 5 anime/manga guy's whose deaths would destroy me" post but I haven't really decided yet...maybe I'll decide while I'm doing the dishes.

YAY! I'm glad you are liking FMA. It is deffinately not the quite on the same level of awesome as the manga, but it pretty darn near close. And it gets different from the manga so you dont feel like you are watching what you just read which I really enjoy.

Yay for Scar!

Ready! Steady! Go!

I LOVED THAT SCENE. It's one of the ones that totally stuck out in my mind.

Another one of my favorites: When Ed and Mustang (I never think of him as Roy) were about to have their battle in "Flame vs. Full Metal" and whoever tells them to start and Mustang goes, "Too slow" and blasts at Ed.

One of the things that told me this show was awesome hapened in ep 14. When Marco is telling Ed and Al about the Ishbal massacre, and shots of Lior are superimposed. I remember sitting there drawing parallels and getting all choked up because it was just so cool.

What got me to really like the second theme was the way the visuals were edited. The third one is the best, though. The fourth has its moments but the third... god, I used to come home drunk all the time and dance around to it in my apartment. (Thank god I live alone; I've only traumatized my cat.)

The tripping scene is what shot the manga from like to love for me, and remains my favorite scene.

I switch between "Roy" and "Mustang" in how I think of Roy, but I'm incapable of thinking of Hawkeye as anything but Hawkeye.

I know what you mean about the parallels. And then they're evil and don't tell you if Rose and the kids die(yet, at least)

"NO ONE messes with the safety of Hawkeye's man, not even her man."

LMAO! True that!

I think I want that as a signature, or at least status message. LOL

LOL. I honestly think she would shoot him im the leg to keep him from doing something foolish. And she wouldn't get in trouble, because Roy knows better than to do anything more than shoot off his mouth. She rules them all and the all know it. And again, after the Roy/Ed, she's the ONLY one complwtely unscathed...they didn't dare(everyone should have just hidden behind her)

Hmm...that WOULD make a good status message, wouldn't it?
