...group of incompetents?

So, yesterday I went in to get my parking permit. Altogether, it should have taken me not even 5 minutes to walk there, get it, and go tyo class, but I went in early just in case there was a line. Not a singles student in sight when I get there.

Before we go any further: You CANNOT register for classes without choosing an option for the parking permit. You have to pick yes/no when registering for classes before you even get to the picking classes. Keep that in mind as you read.

At this point, it's 8:30 am and my class doesn't start until 9:00 am.

Go up to the counter...and I'm told that I'm not registered for a parking permit. Annoyance(controlled annoyance) ensues. After the lady there made it sound like I couldn't eveen GET a parking permit at that point(that little tidbit got cleared up pretty quickly) I asked if I could get it added to my bill.(You know, where it was supposed to be in the first place) No, she couldn't do that there, I'd have to go to the fiscal office. Fine, could I just go ahead and pay for it please? No, she can't put it into the system at all there, I have to go to the fiscal office.

Rrrr. ::traipse traipse traipse::

Fiscal office, explain. No, it definately can't be added to the bill because I've already made a tuition payment(d'uh--they were due 2 weeks ago...) Was I going to pay by credit card. No, by check. Well, they could only take credit cards and that was because the campus police station couldn't take credit cards. If I was paying by cash or check, I had to pay there. Re-explain. Person in charge there calls police station. Lady at the counter tries to make conversation, but in a really stupid way by saying that apparently a lot of people thought they signed up for parking permits but didn't. Extremely annoyed and with a slightly(unintentionally) raised voice I told her that you CAN'T register for classes without choosing an option for parking permits andthat if a lot of students had the same problem I had, that was a pretty good indication that the school screwed up, not the students.

End phone call, I misunderstood the other lady(DID NOT!!!)Then I tell the woman at the counter about the whole tuition thing. Oh, I must have registered late. Nope, I registered the first day seniors could registered, try again. She brings up my account and looks shocked that there are indeed not late charges. Then she says I must have looked at the wrong rates. No, I looked at this semesters rates TWO WEEKS BEFORE TUITION WAS DUE!! Would I like someone to come over and explain it to me. No, I would NOT like someone to try to explain how it's all a misunderstanding on my part and they aren't the least bit at fault and besides which, it's ten 'til and I have a class.

::traipse traipse trapise::

Back to the person who turned an annoyance into a pointless odyssey. Oh, all I asked about was putting it on the bill, neither of us ever said anything about paying for it there(even if that had been the case, it would have been her responsibility to tell me I could pay there) FINALLY get it taken care of...

::traipse traipse traipse::

Late for class.

After class, I saw a friend and told her what had happened and it turned out that they also lost HER parking permit, but that she didn't have the money now to get it(if yesterday hadn't been payday, I wouldn't have been able to pay for it right then, either.) Fortunately, though, they hadn't messed her sister's parking so they were using her car.

Later in the day, I found outthat the tuition thing had happened to other people, too.

I wonder what they're going to do to me when it's time for me to graduate...

Oh, and apparently a few door to door representatives for Reliant(the client I work for at the call center) have decided they don't like me because yesterday I got called in to the shift manager's office and was told there had been several complaints about things I'd never done or come even remotely close to doing. Good thing I don't you know, need a job or anything(mind you...there's no prrof...and I didn't do it...I just got a "now, you do know that if we do catch you doing this, we'll have to terminate you.")

The good news(workwise) is that I have 100s on virtually every QA that I get(QAs being when someone listens in on your calls and grades your performance) and I'm fairly certain that they were listening in on me a good bit this week because most of the time, the reception over the line is a little bit off(in the form of an echo or a slightly mechanical tone in the voices, especially if they recorded it) so they most likely listened to a few door to door calls this week. Who knows.

School books only cost me around $100. However, part of that is because I had to drop a class. ::sad face:: Only nine classes left to take, but no way I'll graduate next fall and still work 40 hours a week. So that part sucks, but theoretically, it'll help me save money(by paying less on tuition) to move out(hopefully next summer)

Waldenbooks is having another "buy 4 get fifth free" sale ::tries to control herself, but knows she's already failed at that::

I finally got the paperback edition of Kristen Britain's "First Rider's call" 600 pages...about halfway through it now.

Random commentary:

CERES CELESTIAL LEGEND v8/Fushigi Yugi v9: Sigh. The 2 Yu Watase books I read this week and both were a touch depressing. And Alice 19th is a touch dark at the moment and I looked at 10-11 of FY and it didn't look like things were going back to chipper anytime soon...

Dream Saga v1: Bought it on a whim. Much better than I'd expected. Quite cute.

Gadirok v1/KABUTO GN (2001) #1: These both started out mid storyline or something and I only half know what happened in them.

Legend of Chun Hyang: Ironically, this is likely the best thing I've read by Clamp...and yet, it still disappoints. This is advertised as a one shot GN, but it's actually 2(large) installments of what was obviously meant to be an ongoing thing, plus a backup story about the main character as a kid, that was cancelled for whatever reason. And I was really, really enjoying it, too...

Les Bijoux v 4: This was dark. And weird. Ok, so the whole series has been dark and weird, but this was darker and weirder. But still very interesting.

New Gods(1996) #1-5: Off to a better start than Evanier's series, but still a touch off.

SANDMAN: WORLD'S END (VOL. 8): Seems like a follow up to Fables & Reflections. Good, but there'sno comparison between the 2 books.
