This is one I actually wouldn't mind...if they weren't calling it New Warriors
And while I'm ranting:
I bought a book on half.com. Paid $40. It was a textbook. One of the ones that comes with a CD. Received the CD. No text book. No reply to email yet. Grrrrrrr...
Grandmother update: Starting to forget things. Didn't really recognize me until I was about to leave yesterday. Great Aunt says she's not sleeping well.
Oh, and apparently, I'm not a "real" customer at Waldenbooks. As you know (I think) I worked there for over 2 years and only left because I was working so many hours at my new(and current) job and didn't really have the time for a side job anymore. Anyway, while I was in there on Saturday, while waiting for my friend Laura (who now works there) to get off the phone with a customer, I noticed that another employee, who's been working there every Saturday for about 2 months there, was taking a long time to check out a customer. The customer was buying one magazine, paying cash, and had no discount cards or everything. The transaction started before Laura got on the phone and ended just after, and Laura was on the phone for a good 5 or more minutes. Most of that time was spent with the other worker apologizing for not knowing what she was doing. I kid you not. I mentioned it to Laura (as in "people are going to start noticing it before long even if they only come in once every few weekends") and she passed it on to Lauri, the manager. According to Laura, the convo went along these lines:
Lauri: Did you get the customer's name?
Laura: Well, yeah...it was Megan.
Lauri: Oh, I thought you meant a real customer. Megan can just come in when she's not here.
As in, I, a regular, paying customer, should make a conventrated effort to not come to the store on Saturday afternoon, despite that being a convenient time for me, because that's when she's there.
Anyone else see the problem?
And the point wasn't that I don't like Lilah(I do) the point was that she took 7-8 minutes to do a 1 minute transaction, holding up the line, and spent most of that time apologizing for not knowing how to do her job.
