Incidentally, since I'll be off after tomorrow(though I'll be coming in for a few hours on Wednesday, and and a meeting on Thursday) there wil likely be several infodumps...lots manga, lotsa dvds, lotsa novels. You are warned.
Birds Of Prey #98: Well Dinah, that’s an interesting vocabulary you’re giving the brat. Good job(at least it makes the kid amusing, which is an improvement) Batgirl reveals means no need for cancellation. Not just because it’s not Babs(which would have released wrath the likes of which most of you have ever seen) but also because it seems that Gail Simone isn’t overly fond of All Star Batman & Robin. Or at least realizes how truly mockable it is. The book’s been as off track as it’s been on track since the OYL jump, but it looks like it’s mostly back on track now.
Firestorm The Nuclear Man #29: Aww…Jason…stop being mean to Mik. He was Firestorm WAY before you were and at the absolute least has equal right to the name…which he stopped using as soon as he learned about you, LONG before you met. You’re just being petty. And Ronnie would kick your butt if he saw you acting like that. So…yeah, right now, I’m pretty much just getting this for Mik…who’ll probably be revealed to be evil soon or something.
Hunter Killer #7: As much as the storyline interests me, I have minimal plot point retention on this book. It’s one of those I’d cut if I had any faith in regular trades.
Jonah Hex #11: Aah, if only ever issue of Jonah Hex featured one of the other DC western heroes. R at least, every other issue. This issue and the issue with Bat Lash are likely my favorite issues of the series, Hex’s interactions with them are just pure fun. Largely because they’re all polite and well mannered and he’s an ill mannered ruffian who pretends they aren’t his friends.
Lions Tigers and Bears Vol 2 #3: Again, little plot detail retention(a lot of that lately…dunno why) despite really liking the story. This one, though, I have faith in its coming out in trade…I just love the Gimoles back ups too much to do so.
Noble Causes #23: Well, that was a rather..unnecessary opening scene. Seriously, I think we have a pretty good idea of how off kilter Race is right now without that. Also? Another Frost-less issue. The series feels like it’s floundering around a bit right now. Nowhere near the point of getting dropped, but not nearly as good as it used to be(though, granted, I much prefer the "original" version of the series) I think Faerber knows where he’s going with everything, but I’m not convinced he knows how to get there.
Supergirl And The Legion Of Super-Heroes #22: Ok, my main reaction to this is that I just want to squish them all together and call them woobies. That’s all I got.
Wolverine Origins #6: Extreme boredom. Not bad, mind you, just boring. Bought only for Jubilee(not that I even qualify that as an appearance…I’ve seen 1 panel cameos of characters that felt more like an "appearance" than this did) and right now, it looks like I’ll only be getting it as long as she’s around.
