Well, just finished Bones(fyi,  [personal profile] alexandral, it turns into a bit of a bingefest slightly after midseason)

I quite liked it.  It joins Numb3rs as the only "CSI-style" shows I like...maybe because they're the only ones where the tech and such(or, in the case of Numb3rs, the formulas) are just methods and it's still the brains that get things taken care of(mind you, like always, I don't include Monk or Veronica Mars in this type of show...Monk is essentially an extreme version of Agatha Christie's Poirot-right down to the supporting cast- while Veronica Mars is a nod to characters like Lois Lane, Nancy Drew and Laura Holt.)

It starts off ok and enjoyable, but consistently gets better and better, despite a few glitches.  While Bones's wardrobe is something I have to ignore, I like her.  She's too smart for her own good but just screwed up enough to be interesting.  Booth is equally screwed up, though it takes longer to notice.  He also takes overprotectiveness to new heights.  I think the only time Angel was ever anywhere near that overprotective was with Cordelia in seasons 2-3 of Angel(granted, Buffy needed it less, though that didn't seem to stop Spike...)  The dialogue is great and very few of the jokes fall flat, and the ones that do are supposed to.

I'm also very sad that Goodwin apparently won't be back in season 2...I loved the entire supporting cast.

Incidentally, I'd say anyone who got discouraged or quit because of lack of UST or angst or EMO-ness should check it out from ep 13+...just saying.
