Ok, that's it.

No matter how much a girl likes to read and how good the books are, a girl can only take so many 8-11 hour days of listening to the same scripts 40-80 times a day with nothing but books as entertainment without going insane.

*goes hunting for her gameboy, which she hasn't touched in almost a year*

So, after ordering some manga from Amazon, I got a mailer from milhigh about their trade paperback sales...trades and GNs 40-50% off(a few slightly more) and manga 40% off...and I'm about a month behind in manga purchases(new releases don't show up in Amazons 4-for-3 sale until they've been out a couple months...Amazon order was Wallflower, Megatokyo, 2 Land of Silver Rain books and the first books of Dokebi Bride and Emma)  I was very, very bad(3 trades-almost 4, but I had to stop somewhere so Mouse Guard got cut from the actual order, and a couple others from the "maybe" list, and then more manga than I can list off the top of the head.)  Respectable  batch of ebay sales proceeds=gone.  Monthly spending=back where it was after recent DVD binge.

Also, I understand that the last few volumes of the main part of Basara(the last 2 volumes of the series are side stories about the characters after the story ends, before they appear in the series and when we don't see them in the series) is all one big story, so I'm trying to be strong so I can read them all at once.  Vol 23 has been taunting me for a little over a week(yeah, it took me forever to get the thing...) but I am determined.

Anyway, post is mostly on the fantasy-romance manwha, Land of Silver Rain, and then vol 6 of Skip-Beat.

off to the parents tomorrow for about 2 weeks.

Normal drill, though even less internet, as no internet at work, so I'll likely only be online enough for flist and email, Saturday and Sunday night aside.

Just a small picspam of a few of the covers for Land of Silver Rain, because I think they're pretty.

FIREFLY!

So, the boys were making "we've watched everything twice" noises.  Which is almost the only time I can get them to watch anything I can handle more than 5 minutes of, so I brought Firefly.

The plan was to beat the first level of Legend of Zelda, but I was lost the second Wash staged the battle of his toys.

But fear not first level minor boss dragon...I SHALL conquer you...soon.

(one computer still has internet, but I can only use it on Sat if the guy who uses it doesn't come in)

eta: silly Jayne...Mal does not allow anyone to do anything resembling hurting Kaylee's feelings

Our DVD player at work doesn't have any arrows or anything, so without a remote or "play all" we can only watch subsequent episodes if the indicator automatically goes to the nect ep.  Naturally, we don't have the remote today and Firefly discs don't to that, so all we get to watch is the Serenity 2 parter.

*sigh*

OTOH, the flist is likely spared Firefly spam.  *makes note to do a proper rewatch soon*

You know, it's really a VERY good thing that Kaylee fell for a guy that most of her "family" largely approves of.  3 of them love their guns(one likes his guns more than he likes people) and the other 2 could make your life extremely difficult...or just send their gunloving SOs after you.  Actually, one wonders how on earth even a guy as lucky as Simon managed to survive that ultimatum...

And, you know, after their conversatioon at the end, and later in Ariel, if there really is enough money out there for Jayne to turn on Mal.  Even though it doesn't always look it, he really is very loyal to Mal, he just defines being loyal to Mal as being loyal to Mal specifically, while Mal defines loyalty to him as being loyalty to him and his people(which Jayne has theoretically been set straight about)

And now, back to Zelda.  Soon level one dragon guy, son I shall learn how to kill you and you will go all flashy and die.

So, was still inthe Firefly mood, but I left the DVDs at work(in a locked drawer) because I didn't want to forgetthem on Monday as the boys want to watch it(YAY!) so I went to youtube.  I know that, when it coming to the romantic pairings, most fans seem to like Mal/Inara and/or Kaylee/Simon best, and while I love both, I've always like Zoe/Wash best, plus they(and Mal) are my favorites as individuals.  Of course, one of the nice things about Firefly is that all the pairings are great(though, as [profile] kinkytinky and I have discussed, the main reason people probably pair River/Jayne off in fanfic is because she's the only unattached female and the only other available male is a priest.)

(now, my favorite relationship-in a completely non-shippy non-romantic way-is Zoe/Mal, but that's another thing altogether)

Anyway, naturally, I first went after Zoe/Wash vids and scenes, and
