Latest entry into "things that are possibly a bad idea":  Combining day 3 of a massive booksale that involves you hauling bags and boxes of books  with CPR training to renew your certification.

My arms!  They are going to fall off!  I swear it!

Also, inner dialogue between Sane Inner Megan (SIM) and Paranoid Inner Megan (PIM), spawned by "Hello, Megan" when I went to the booksale today:

PIM:  They know my name!  How do they know my name?  I haven't told them my name!
SIM:  You wrote a check on Thursday because you make a bigger donation then.
PIM:  They know my nnnnnaaaaaammmmmmeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
SIM:  I give up on you.

PIM is a result of the fact that my mother has been a probation officer since I was 10.

(Really, I spend so much time there every year that they should know my name.  They certainly know what sections to point me to.)

ETA:  Also, enough of the 100 or so copies of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights had been picked through that I could find some classics I was actually interested in.  Though, sadly, no Gaskell books.  I thought about grabbing JE and WH so I could rant about how they make reading a lot of romantic plots rage inducing for me thanks to their influence, but that would have involved losing bag space.

Things happen!  Previously "We say they're smart but actually they're dumb!" people grew brains!  People who are usually smart forget they have them!   Previously loser characters who got kinda cool become losers again because TPTB realize they distract from Emo Boy!  And lest we forget:  BBBBBRRRRRRAAAAAIIIIINNNNNSSSSS!!!!!!

SPOILERS! WITH BRAINS! )

Set several months after The Silent Tower and The Silicon Mage, Dog Wizard features Joanna and Antryg having settled down in our world, theoretically free of Antryg’s past. That, of course, doesn’t last long, as someone crosses over and kidnaps Joanna, causing Antryg to go after her.

The books is fun, and we get a better look at the Wizard’s Council and how it relates to the world than we have before, and there are some fun secondary characters, but it’s not as good as its predecessors. Partly, I think, because, while Antryg is great, Antryg as related by Antryg just isn’t as fun as Antryg as related by others, and most of the book is from Antryg’s perspective. I would have rather the main focus been on Joanna’s adventures in the vault, or various wizards trying to figure Antryg out.

Also, I can’t help but think that Daurannon, one of the new characters, is almost a second Caris. Except I’d rather just have the original back.

Anyway, not as good as the first two books, but still fun in its own right.
