So, the potential change in projects at work has been put off until March.  This is actually a huge relief because I have a doctor's appointment next week to finally get (I hope) something for the ADD.  You may recall the drama involved in my actually managing to get the appointment.

I have an enormous list to take to the booksale with me, and no printer to print it from.  Oy.  At least books are only 50 cents to a dollar, so picking up a book I have won't kill me.  I'm also working a split shift at work so I can leave and go to the booksale, because I didn't want to use vacation time.  Although, if I'd realized work would slow down this week, I probably would have.  Then again, maybe not, as people have been calling in sick all week, so they may have called and asked me to come in anyway.

ETA:  Also, I have Gossip Girl Does 1899 Take 3.  Not that I'll likely get to it for a few weeks, but I shall cuddle it anyway.

I got a papercut freeing my book from Amazon's packaging.

Should I just go back to bed?

Dear Random Solicitor For University Fundraiser,

I actually find it kinda weird that you came by my apartment the one time I come home from work to eat.  I'm 99.999999999% sure that it was coincidence, though.  I don't mind you writing down my name so that you can count me as someone you talked to for your school fundraiser so you can get points, and I think it's pretty cool that you spotted the bookcases on the back wall and had a fangasm over the manga.  But no, you, a person I have known for two minutes, may not come into my apartment.  And when I say twice that I have no need for any of the magazines you are trying to sell, I probably mean it.

Sincerely,

Me

P.S.-How did you miss the "no solicitations" signs around the complex?  (Not that that's ever stopped anyone else.)

This remains a wonderfully fluffy shoujo. I’m sure there will be angst eventually, but I don’t care. I don’t even mind the kinda-maybe triangle between Yukari, Ageha and Mamoru’s brother. Admittedly, that’s mostly because Nat-chan seems to have already consigned himself to defeat, Ageha is clueless, and Yukari can feel the hate waves. Actually, the hate waves-and Yukari’s reactions to them-remind me a bit of Kyoko’s grudge demons in Skip-Beat. Anything that reminds me of Skip-Beat is a good thing.

I continue to love the craft bits and dresses (but I have to wonder what on Earth was up with that plaid-type-thing Ageha was wearing on the Chapter 13 cover page) and blatant excuses for bridal gown cosplay and cute clothes, and especially the focus on family and friendships. I’m not thrilled with one plotpoint regarding Yuakri’s family, though I like one aspect of it. Honestly, between Mamoru’s attitude towards Ageha and Renko and Kazuha’s friendship in I Hate You More Than Anyone-not to mention how some models react to Ageha-I can’t shake the feeling that the mangaka is a closet shoujo-ai fan. (I think the actual fandom term is “gar,” but I’m not sure.)

I also love the wedding bears, and I’m glad that it’s now been established how long this is set after I Hate You More Than Anyone (11 years) as I’d been wondering about that. It’ll also help me figure out which of Kazuha’s brothers is running around here when I read I Hate You More Than Anyone.

So,somewhere in the universe, there is a drama where Abe Hiroshi knits.

It looks something like this:

If you know what drama this is, it is only humane for you to tell me what drama it is, and where to get it subbed.

This volume had a lot of cute little stories that twisted the conventions of some typical stories. I’m particularly fond of the dark twist on The Princess Who Never Laughed, with the spoiled princess who made people tell her stories about herself, and if she didn’t like the stories, she ordered them killed.

There are a lot of cute things in this volume, largely regarding the twins, such as when they get a “pen pal,” and when we learn what Kuro’s contingency plan is for if the twins go missing. I’m also especially fond of a flashback story where Kuro meets a dogfaced (literally) traveler, but I may be biased, as it particularly reminded me of Kino no Tabi. We also got a look into Kuro and Sen’s past.

Still a charming, slightly morbid take on a fairy tale world. Sadly, it doesn’t look like there will be a Volume 3 anytime soon.
