manhwa: Antique Gift Shop Vol 7
May. 1st, 2009 11:49 amYou know, I’m not sure Buh-Nyun’s name was even mentioned in this volume, and Mr. Yang’s barely at all. But then, this is one of those volumes that isn’t really about them. Instead, it’s about Chan-Young, who seems to be an old friend of Buh-Nyun’s. Fresh out of prison, he taunts his older brother, a cop by breaking into his house as a way of letting him know he’s out of jail. This has the unexpected result of making his brother run into the street in a panic to get home, and get hit by a car.
At the funeral, Chan-Young is enraged that his brother’s underaged girlfriend doesn’t shed a single tear for him, and resolves to throw her out of the house. This, of course, doesn’t go as planned, and they end up with rather odd living arrangements. As expected of the series, the story is bother interesting and mythic, and not quite conventional, but I missed Buh-Nyun and Mr. Yang. The end of the volume, though, seems to imply that the next volume will focus more on them.
