meganbmoore: (jo is better than you)
So, as many of you know, I am quite fond of the first two seasons of Supernatural, but broke up with it when I started hearing about season 3. Then i actually watched season 3, and the lingering fondness kinda died.

That said, I still follow some posts on it, and reactions to season finales of shows you've broken up with can be fun. Sometimes, they can inspire you to give it another chance.

This is not one of those times.

In short:

1.  I spent the first half of the week with a moderate cold.  I probably got it from one of the nursery kids.  and then I threw up this morning.  (And then was immediately starving, so thankfully not a stomach virus.)  Clearly, not quite my week in the health department.

2.  OTOH,  my bathtub faucet got a leak a couple weeks back that turned into a steady stream between my reporting it and it getting fixed.  But it is fixed!  And...err...the  leak was driving me crazy.  We also have the client coming to work next week.  Most people are freaking out over making sure everything is perfect, but i'm kinda basking in all the cleaning being done that, for some reason, they wouldn't let me stop making them money to do.  The main thing is that they turned some file cabinets around a couple weeks ago, revealing years' worth of soda stains and gum and things I don't want to think about.  The file cabinet by me only stayed that way for as long as it took me to launch myself at someone with a key to the supply closet so I could clean it, but everyone else just LEFT them alone.  And...uhm...I can handle my apartment being a mess (it always is) but anywhere else, and I have an overwhelming need to make it clean.

3.  I went to Hastings after work today to look for A.J. Hartley's The Mask of Atreus for my classics chat group, and that was the only Hartley book they didn't have in stock.  However, they had all children's and YA books and graphic novel "buy 2 get 3rd free" and I had $60 in store credit, so I grudgingly forgave them since I was able to get up to the latest release of The Gentlemen's Alliance (vol 9) and a few YA without spending a penny.

4.  The books I asked for when kingcrankycat was clearing out his shelves a while back came today.  (Free books!  Yay!)  It's been long enough that I completely forget what was in them, so the recent MammothFail made me amused to see that a chunk were Lois McMaster Bujold books.

5.  I have realized that, when I go to A-Kon in two weeks, we will be going to Half Price Books (A used bookstore I can get lost in!  It...uhm...is actually the biggest bookstore I've ever been in, once we consider that only about 1/4 of Hastings is books.) and then two weeks after that is the library booksale, so for every book I grab at Half Price Books, there will be a "but what if it's at the library booksale, where it'll only be fifty cents!" pang.

ETA:  Oh, and Dollhouse has been renewed, so I guess that's a number 6.  Uhm...I will have Expectations?  Like, you know, trying to balance the utter fail with maybe directly addressing some of the issues, and maybe letting a Doll or two get some degree of justice, and maybe actually rescue themselves?  Not that I really expect those Expectations to be met.
